Motivation is a short window of opportunity. Make the most of it while it lasts

We are all familiar with this disappearing act of motivation. It can leave you with your pants down if you don’t have the discipline once the motivation dies. Experiencing this for years, I’ve worked out how to best use motivation for myself personally and I hope others can relate or even make use of this.

Motivation is great ignition. It lights the fire one must use to get over the most difficult stage. Starting. The beginning is always the hardest but it is outdone by fresh motivation. The issue here is that motivation is always temporary. It comes and goes but If you learn to utilise it by planning long/short term goals and to build up the right habits to kick start some sort of momentum of sustained discipline, it can get you past the hardest phase. From there on, the motivation through results will be self sustaining. However before you can get to that stage, the next difficulty of the journey is the time between the end of the temporary motivation, and the beginning of seeing results. If this stage is passed, it’s smooth sailing from there on as long as you don’t allow life’s tragedies to stop the momentum you’ve worked so hard to build. If the momentum is stopped, you’ll need to start all over again which sucks the most. Trust me on that
