Im a 17yo aspiring footballer, and when I first started playing properly about 5 years ago I was the most motivated kid in the team, worked early in the morning late at night for hours and hours and now I feel like the same motivation isn’t there. Dont get me wrong, I still feel motivated to reach my goal for my loved ones, but whenever I need to go to the gym or do a core workout my brain keeps making these excuses like “only do one set because you have a game in 2 days” or “I’ll do it tomorrow” and its really hard to stay motivated and this is the first time in my life I have been struggling with motivation. I know that the fact that I haven’t achieved my goal is enough motivation or “should” be enough motivation but when I’m lying in bed I just don’t have the urge to put in the work anymore. But when I listen to music, even someplace random like in my car, I feel extremely motivated and feel like I can do anything. Any ideas on why my motivation has diluted or how to gain/stay motivated for the long run? Any comments or suggestions are appreciated 🤗
