Been looking at some topics/posts about how to get motivation, how to motivate yourself. And they all seem like bullshit, usually something along the lines of building discipline by doing small things every day, break the tasks down in chunks, et cetera. Has any of that really worked for you?

Like the title says, I really don't believe any of this shit, I can get motivated on my own by things that already interest me, but things that don't keep me interested I tend not to do (shocker ik), my question is this, for things that you don't find interesting enough to do, can you personally find motivation to do them? Have you done so in the past? or drop the subject/interest alltogether? Like there seems to be this huge disconnect on what I or others want to be, versus what we actually want to do. Does it all boil down to that "you got to want it to do it?"
