Rock bottom will teach you the most valuable lessons

I’m only 17, so realistically i probably haven’t experienced “rock bottom”, but I’d say I’ve come pretty close.

At the start of this year i was kicked off my dream apprenticeship due to covid, my grandpa was terminally ill and i was really depressed. I started working an awful job at a fast food place, working night shifts which i hated. I felt like giving up, i thought why is this happening to me? Every other 17 year old is in school living a simple life.

My grandpa said to me, “one thing you have is time, which I don’t have a lot of”. This single sentence motivated me to keep going. I’m now back at school and i am doing well and i am in a much better place.

Even though you may not be able to see it now, things always get better. Back in January i saw no way out of my situation. When i look back on this year, i am proud.

You will be one day too, you just gotta keep going.
