If you ever needed motivation, read this story

I used to underperform quite heavily when i was in junior high & high school. My GPA was 6.91/10, didn’t get admitted to high school (Yes that happends in Finland) and ended up in Vocational Institute, where i could do matriculation examination with 4 subject if i wanted to do double degree.

Ended up with lowest gpa of my class (~1.6/3.0 in 1-3) yet passed the matriculation exams with C and could apply to universities.

Read about 8-10 hours per for 6 months for the entrance exam to business school and got admitted to study finance. The thrill was beyond me.

As i studied for one year, i wanted to apply for Law school, since it’s a ”Classic” combo in Nordics to study both finance & law with 2 degrees.

Moved to my parents house to prepare for the exam, since everyone has 1 month time to study before exams. Same routine, prep course and 8-10 hours reading for month with no social media or binge drinking, got admitted to University of Helsinki (best law school in Finland).

At this point it seemed as there really is endless amount of opportunities for all of us here. Last month, I started to wonder what if i applied for medical school since the career would be more interesting after all? My parents of course bashed the idea and said i should complete the law & finance degrees first and get a job.

I will of course, but ive decided to go for the med-school with 100% commitment, since it would be the most interesting career.

Moral of the story: Dont EVER think there could be something you could not do, especially if you’re young. I didnt get admitted to a high-school back in 2013, yet here i am. Trust yourself and work hard.

And yes, in Finland education is tuition-free!
