Hello all. I am currently in the military in a very difficult environment. Not difficult physically, but I can’t imagine a much more mentally stressful and toxic place. I have been struggling for some time with self improvement and motivation. I know what needs to change, but I can’t seem to start. My life is very hectic and busy, but even if I act like I have no time, I do. How can I start making positive changes when I feel like absolute dog shit all the time and my motivation is at all time lows. I understand that it starts with “why” and I’m not saying this isn’t valid, but my position in life for at least several more years is pretty concrete. Sometimes I look at it as though I am a prisoner in the sense that, no matter what I do, I can’t change my circumstances. This can be good, because if I can’t change that, I can only change my perspective, but even still, I can’t be fucked into making positive change. Any help would be appreciated!
TLDR: What are some action steps you have taken to help initiate the first “push” into self improvement during times of intense stress/dissatisfaction
