The arrival of 2021 comes with new opportunities and goals. Often these goals are well-intentioned, but it is easy to lose the drive which propels us towards these goals. In order to help accomplish these goals for 2021, here are some general tips for setting your goals and following through with them.
· Clearly define your goals. Be specific so that the goal has a concrete finish at the end.
· Make the goal challenging, but attainable. A goal that is too easy may become monotonous and repetitive, making you more likely to drop your goal in the long run.
· Promote a committing environment. If your goal is to exercise more, actively set aside some time each day for exercise. Fully commit to yourself to the completion of your goal.
· Focus on a step by step approach, not just the end. Dividing your overall goal into smaller ones will give you a sense of completion, as well as a boost in your confidence.
· Reward yourself when you complete a milestone. You’ve certainly earned it!
· Seek out support. Have supportive friends and family there to encourage you as you work through your goals.
