Achieving Financial and Family Success with John Soforic #MakingBank S5E1

Chiropractor and author of the best-selling book “The Wealthy Gardener,” John Soforic joins us here on season 5 episode 1 of the Making Bank podcast. Today, we discuss the financial philosophy and life lessons that John has learned in real estate that he wishes to pass on to others

When John graduated from chiropractic college, he had $200,000 worth of student debt, a wife and growing family. He found out quickly that while working as a chiropractor he had great patients, but a poor business margin. He needed to find a way to build a retirement fund and income and so he turned to real estate, spending decades learning the ins and outs of the business and how to flourish.

Along the way, he learned a more important skill—bonding with his family. He understood that if he wanted his family’s support, he needed to include them. He communicated openly his fears and ambitions to his wife and children. He showed them the good and the bad of his career to prepare them for their future, which will include hardships. In this journey, he achieved two successes: financial goals and a close bond with his family.

Highlights from this episode include:

· Setting one clear goal and focusing on it

· How small, seemingly insignificant choices every day build up towards success

· Success doesn’t occur over night, but it is achievable

· How to maintain a daily motivation and intention

· Communicating with and including your family in your career life to teach your children the lessons you are now learning

· You can’t avoid getting your hands dirty if you want to reach your financial goals
